You ask and you shall receive! It is now 7:30am of day one of being a full time father. McKinzie actually was really good last night. She was fed around 8pm, grandparents drooled all over her from 8:30 until 9:15pm and McKinzie slept through the whole thing! She is truly a Smith as we can sleep through even slobbery grandparents!
So McKinzie was woken up around 11:30 to feed and then Ash asked them to take her to the nursery so she could get a little sleep. A little is probably the wrong word as Ash ended up not being woken up again until around 4:30am this morning to feed. Since then McKinzie has been in our room feeding, pooping and sleeping (and not in those orders!).

Finally I got a little time to sit down and do some more blogging. Above you found more pictures of my little one. It is always nice to be able to sit in a real chair as compared to the couch butt I have been restricted to the last 2 days. O, so the new room we were moved to has a twin size bed but let me tell you that the Couch that I had before ALMOST was better.

Another blog should come later today. Enjoy the pics.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!

At 5:32pm tonight, Ashley brought into this world the most beautiful little girl I could have ever asked for. McKinzie Ruth Smith was born at 5:32pm, weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces and measuring 20.5" long. She has a full head of black hair as you can maybe see in the photos above.

I have so many photos but not enough room to put them all. So if you want to see the whole variety, please let me know and I will e mail them to you.

Whoooooohooooo it is over! Thank you to all the staff at Fairview Medical Center Southdale for everything they did with my wife. A very special thank you to Dr. Lora Princ for everything she did.

As you can tell, my baby girl is a beautiful miracle that I am so excited to have in my life!

After McKinzie was born, Ash kind of had a rough go after birth. McKinzie didn't have to many options when it came to eating as Ash was out of service due to not feeling really well after giving birth. Ash was extremely dehydrated but has since turned a corner and is going nuts sitting still. Thank the Lord that both baby and mom are doing 100%.... and might I add that McKinzie has already developed the well known "Smith Disease!" We can sleep anywhere, anytime and in pretty much anybody's arms.

Thank you to all that have said best wishes and gave us their best support. McKinzie is a squirmer and such a delight to have in our lives.

Well, it is time for Mom, McKinzie and especially me to turn towards the beds and hopefully start our routine of every two hours of feedings.

So far, my angel is everything that I have ever wanted!

Goodnight and more from the Smiths tomorrow!

UPDATE: It is now 12:06pm and Ash is steady and relaxing on the Ephideral. Let me tell you, any ladies that do not take the Ephideral are NUTS! She is completely relaxed and quietly taking her first nap in nearly 24 hours.

Me, well I haven't any nap longer then 90 minutes since about 9pm last night. So, I am signing off for right now as they are bumping up the Potocin and the Ephideral is in high gear. YESSSSSS!

Until later!

p.s.....Ashley wants to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers. Soon enough you will see beautiful pictures of both mom and baby on here!

10:45am and Ash has broken down to the pain and has asked for an Ephideral. Normal part of the pregnancy but it is a good sign as her contractions are now about 3 minutes apart.

What am I doing on here??? Anyways, just a quick update. Everything is going really well but Ash is starting to hate the pain.

Me too! Backrub after backrub makes me want one! Better then having Couch butt I guess. Anyways, Got to go.

Everyone please enjoy your day as our's is quickly progressing!

P.S...Soon enough Baby will change to a real name!

8:15am and Ash is finally hooked up to the Potacin and her doctor is supposed to be in the room in the next 30 minutes to look at getting the process started. If you dont know what that is, sorry, not going to explain, to long. As I better be getting accustomed to, there was someone in the room every 2 hours to check up on the medicine and Ashley to make sure all was going smoothly. I tried to sleep through it but it is just the beginning of my new life!

Last night was interesting. Maybe today/tonight I will post a picture of my king size bed that I got to sleep on! King size would be for an infant, not someone that is 6'5''!

Anyways, the day is underway and the processes are rolling. You will see me in and out of here posting and checking things out and giving you the latest updates!

Thanks to everyone for the best wishes! We are on our way to being a complete family!

Here we go! It is now approaching 9pm and Ash has just received her first doses of medicine. She has 2 iv's put in here to help move things along a little quicker and the nurse has just stopped in to offer up a deal, more muscle relaxers! Whooohooo
So we have been here since 6:45pm and I am officially almost bored. The nurse has been in and out about every 15 to 20 minutes checking up on Ashley and baby (name to come tomorrow!). Baby seems to have her jogging outfit on tonight as she has not stopped moving since Ash has been hooked up to the monitors. So far tonight I have been watching a little hockey, golf and some show that Ash made me put on about a 5th grader?!?!?

Well, I am starting to get a couch butt so I got to get up and walk around a little and grab some to eat for the night.

Below you will find the 1 and only picture that Ash would let me post.....(oops I mean 2...shhh she doesn't know there are 2!). I think that my baby girl is going to grow up with a phone on her ear just as my wife always has on hers! Enjoy these pictures one last night because by this time tomorrow night, I will hope that I will have one lovely baby girl laying in my arms!

Goodnight All......

OK... So I decided to create a blog so that it would be easier to share pics and information about the birth of our little one as she is due to arrive soon! Jason and I are expecting a little girl on April 17th! We just finished her nursery this past weekend so I will post some pictures of it and my one and only belly pic! Enjoy!
