New pool

I set up McKinzie's pool today... she loves playing in the water.

Chicago

These are pictures from our trip to Chicago. We had a blast hanging out with McKinzie's Aunt Sherry and Uncle Steve, and cousins Todd,Kris, Grace, Maggie and Jake, although Jake had to leave early to go to camp. Grammy and Lyss were there too. On Saturday, we went to the Arboretum in Chicago that had an awesome children's garden. The girls had fun chasing each other around and playing in the tadpole pond. On Sunday we headed to the Dunes in Indiana where McKinzie met Sherry's beautiful horse Tug and went to the beach. It was absolutely gorgeous at the Dunes. We all had a wonderful time hanging out together. McKinzie and Maggie are quite the pair. Grace is an awesome helper with both of the girls. Maggie is lucky to have such a cool big sister (and brother too).

Passick Family Reunion

Here are some pictures from our recent trip to Iowa for a Passick Family Reunion. Many of Great Grandma's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were in town and we had a fun time hanging out with everyone.

chicago children's garden

So I thought I'd post a video of Kinzie's cousins, Maggie and Grace playing peek-a-boo with Kinzie at the Children's Garden at the arboretum in Chicago. The girls had so much fun playing together! Tomorrow I will post pictures from Chicago and from our weekend in Iowa a couple weeks ago... I know I'm due for an updatE! Anyway, I love this video! The girls had so much fun together and it makes me super excited for our Cook Family Reunion in September when we will have more of our cousins and kids together!! :)

Mini-me

So McKinzie's new thing is to do whatever I am doing. For example, the other day I was doing laundry and McKinzie decided she wanted to help. So she took clothes from her hamper and put them in the washing machine. She is just barely tall enough to reach the top. She also knows how to take her bowls out of the dishwasher and stack them for me. Tonight when I was folding clothes, she took one of Jason's shirts and tried to copy what I was doing. It is so cute to watch her. The other night I was reading to her in my rocking chair. She got down suddenly and picked up a book and crawled over to her rocking chair and sat in it to read. It was cute... we had to take pictures! :)

Summer Fun

Here are some pictures from the pool yesterday and the arboretum today. The Minnesota Arboretum is our new favorite walking place. We got a membership so we can go for free. It is absolutely beautiful and McKinzie LOVES walking on the paths.

Sprinkler Park

So I had to post this video because there is a story behind it. We went to the zoo again today because they opened up the new grizzly exhibit. We went with Kinzie's buddy Riley and her parents. Well in the new exhibit is a sprinkler park. We weren't going to let the girls get wet, but just watch the sprinklers (haha, what were we thinking?!) Anyway, about 30 seconds before this video took place, McKinzie took off running into the sprinklers getting soaked. To make it that much better, mom runs in after her avoiding the sprinklers at all cost. We had almost made it out safely when a sprinkler shot up and soaked mom and Kinzie. So much for staying dry. Luckily it wasn't too cold today. We bought Kinzie a t-shirt from the zoo gift shop and she walked around in that the rest of the day! :) Kinzie's buddy Riley is the little girl in the green shorts in the video.

This is a video of McKinzie reading her books. McKinzie could sit with a pile of books all day if I let her. She will sit for about 20 minutes at a time at look through books over and over again. I just thought I'd take a video of it cause it's so cute!! :)
